The Challenge
An export-grade pulse and grain processor was losing margin to silent shrinkage between cleaning, grading, and packing. Variations in moisture and quality readings meant entire consignments were being downgraded at the buyer's gate, causing substantial revenue losses.
The Solution
Ensis built a granular lot-tracking MES. Every truck weighed in becomes a tracked lot through cleaning, de-stoning, sorting, and bagging. Quality readings, including NIR-meter and lab values, are bound directly to each lot. FSSAI-compliant batch records generate themselves automatically upon production completion.
The Outcome
Shrinkage dropped from 2.7% to 0.9% in the first quarter of operation. Buyer rejections fell to zero across two consecutive export seasons. The plant now bids on contracts that could not be served previously due to strict compliance standards.
